Thank You!
We are pleased that you are considering MARATHON, a roof coating system for preservating and waterproofing your existing roof. This product is designed to extend the life of flat or low-slope roofs and reduce their adverse impact on the environment.
MARATHON is a permanently flexible, highly durable membrane that will help reduce energy consumption and costs, while keeping the building interior cooler. By reflecting the sun’s heat from the roof surface, less heat is transferred through the roof substrate, which reduces air conditioning loads. MARATHON is also effective in preventing leaks and repairing those that currently exist.
Please take a moment to read these instructions carefully and become familiar with the product terms and tools needed to successfully coat and restore your existing roof.
NOTE: When in doubt, apply another coat! Additional material will help ensure that the membrane thickness is sufficient to bridge any hairline cracks that may develop in the substrate. Flat or low-sloped roofs are subjected to the damaging effects of the sun and weather every day, year in and year out. MARATHON is designed to be applied in several coats in order to achieve adequate film thickness and uniform coverage. This will also significantly increase the service life of your roof.
SAFETY FIRST: Before beginning any project, carefully read applicable product labels, as important health and safety information is available there.
When working on the roof of any building, always use extreme caution around electrical connections, overhead power lines or mechanical equipment.
Seek assistance when using ladders to gain access to the roof, especially when lifting heavy buckets or tools onto the roof surface. Children should not be allowed on the roof or under any ladder or scaffolding structures. Always use proper fall restraint equipment.
